IPOH, Malaysia--Ever fancied listening to smooth classical music while being surrounded by lush greenery and cool forest air while being comfortably seated at a premium resort? No you do not have to fly off overseas to enjoy such an experience.
An amazing performance is about to be held at The Haven Resorts in Ipoh from Oct. 27-29, bringing together a dream team of top artists and musicians complemented with 40-piece Selangor Symphony Orchestra.
It will be a first-of-its-kind musical performance “The Haven Musical Extravaganza”, emanating from the floating stage in the lake, with the virgin forest as backdrop and audiences seated in the garden by the lake, the amphitheatre and in the comfort of the balconies of their accommodation units.
Musicians will also be deployed at the forest’s edge around the lake and in the units of the 3 high-rise buildings to produce a ‘sensurround’ effect for the audience, the organiser The Haven Resorts said in a statement.
Dr. Hyungi Kim, a renowned international violinist, Ms. Jiayao Sun, an internationally renowned mezzo-soprano and En. Asyraf Farhan Adi Zairi, a popular Malaysian singer are scheduled to awe audiences with their talents.
Adding to these is the prestigious Selangor Symphony Orchestra (SSO) which serves as a platform for Malaysia’s accomplished professional classical musicians, showcasing the accumulated growth of the Malaysian classical music scene.
Classics including The Four Seasons, Swan Lake, The Sound of Music, Butterfly Lovers will be performed along with more contemporary pieces that will be performed by top-tier artists who will congregate here for the purpose.
“We believe The Haven Musical Extravaganza has the potential to be a most attractive annual event and a major attraction for Perak. We have every intention to repeat the event annually just as the Sarawak Rainforest Music Festival is held yearly. This musical event is the first of many events that will promote Ipoh as the City of Limestone, Music and Arts in a major way and is certain to attract visitors from all over Asia at its debut and from next year, the world,” the organiser said.
It is obvious that this major event will help solidify Ipoh as a place not just of amazing natural forests, but also as a cultural capital which will rejuvenate the image of the city and draw in not only interest but commerce from admirers of fine music but tourists as well.
