KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has directed a key witness in Najib Razak’s 1MDB trial to go for a Covid-19 swab test.

Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah made the order after deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Mustafa P Kunyalam informed the court that former 1MDB CEO Mohd Hazem Abdul Rahman was on medical leave today.

“He has a fever,” he said.

To that, Sequerah told the prosecution to ask Hazem to go for a Covid-19 swab test and to proceed with the trial by calling the next witness.

“And please use the resources at your disposal to ensure another witness is present in court by 11am,” the judge said.

Mustafa told the court his next witness is a senior citizen and the prosecution will bring her to court by 1pm.

The DPP later told reporters the prosecution would be calling former Cabinet deputy chief secretary Mazidah Abdul Majid to the witness stand.
