KOTA KINABALU: A policeman and two men on a motorcycle were killed following a collision involving a military truck at Tuaran near here today.

Tuaran police chief Mohd Hamizi Halim said the accident occurred after a collision between the lorry, driven by a 24-year-old soldier, and the motorcycle.

He said afer the collision, the motorcycle was dragged by the lorry to the opposite lane. The lorry then crashed into an oncoming car driven by police corporal Shamsully Adly.

“The policeman had just finished his shift at nearby district Kota Belud and was on his way home to Tuaran,” said Hamizi.

He said Shamsully, 45, was trapped in the wreckage and died on the spot.

Hamizi said the men riding the motorcycle, Jul Amri Shamsudin and cousin Il Yasa Samsudin, died of serious body and head injuries.

The army truck driver and his seven passengers escaped unhurt, he said. - Free Malaysia Today
